FINE MATERIALS & PRODUCTION
What does ’18 Carat Gold’ mean?
Carat is the measurement used to determine the purity of precious metals like gold. The description ’18-carat’, shortened to ‘18 ct.’ guarantees exceptional purity.
At Beheyt Diamond, we work with 18 ct. gold.
All of our 18 ct. gold designs -unless the stamp damages the jewel- contain the official stamp with 750 in the center. It indicates that 75% fine gold has been used in combination with other alloys like copper and silver.
All of Beheyt Diamond’s 18 ct. gold jewelry pieces come with a certification card.
What are the 4 Cs?
Today, the 4Cs of diamond quality — color, clarity, cut, and carat weight — serve as the universal standard for evaluating the value of any diamond. The establishment of the Diamond 4Cs represents two key advancements: the ability to communicate diamond quality using a globally recognized system, and the guarantee that buyers are well-informed about the quality of the diamond they are purchasing.
Are your diamonds certified?
Every Beheyt Diamond piece comes with a Beheyt Diamond certification card.
All of our natural diamond stones of 0.5 carats and above are GIA, IGI or HRD certified. The certificate comes with the purchase of your piece of jewelry.
Where is Beheyt Diamond’s Jewelry made?
Beheyt Diamond’s Jewelry is made in the Beheyt Atelier in Kortrijk, Belgium. Since 200 years, this family business has built a legacy of excellence, infusing tradition with innovation.
Where do you source your stones?
We source our diamonds from established suppliers who possess a multi-generational dedication to their craft and who work according to our principles of quality and ethical business practices.
NATURAL VS LABGROWN
What is the difference between a lab grown & natural diamond?
To the naked eye, lab-grown and natural diamonds look identical because they have the same chemical, physical, and optical properties. The difference is the method of their creation:
Natural diamonds take 1 to 3 billion years to form under extreme heat and pressure deep within the Earth’s mantle. Their rarity makes them valuable and unique.
Lab-grown diamonds are created in a few weeks using advanced technology, making them more accessible and widely available.
How are labgrown diamonds made?
There are two main methods for creating lab-grown diamonds: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). HPHT replicates the conditions that occur in the Earth’s mantle, where natural diamonds form. CVD is a more innovative and technologically driven approach to create diamonds.
Are labgrown diamonds cheaper than natural diamonds?
Yes, labgrown diamond are typically more affordable than natural diamonds. This is because producing diamonds in a lab is less costly than mining them. Natural diamonds take billions of years to form and require expensive mining operations. Lab-grown diamonds are created in a matter of weeks in controlled environments, making production more efficient and cost-effective.
Do labgrown diamonds hold their value?
Today, lab-grown diamonds tend to hold less resale value than natural diamonds, primarily due to the fact that they are more abundant and can be produced at will in labs, while natural diamonds are more scarce and have a historical demand.
However, the value of labgrown diamonds remains stable as a beautiful and cutting-edge alternative to mined diamonds.
Are labgrown diamonds more sustainable?
Lab-grown diamonds require significant energy for production, but they eliminate the environmental impact of mining.
Natural diamonds contribute to millions of livelihoods worldwide, especially in mining communities. Ethically sourced diamonds follow strict regulations like the Kimberley Process.
CLEANING & CHECK-UP
How often do I clean my jewelry piece at home?
We advise cleaning your jewelry at home every 2 weeks.
What is the best way to care for my piece of jewelry?
Soak your piece of jewelry in a mixture of lukewarm water and dish soap for 20 – 40 minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub away any dirt.
Afterwards, you can rinse your piece under running warm water.
We also recommend using a small in-home ultrasonic cleaner.
Are there any activities that I should avoid while wearing my piece of jewelry?
Our pieces are created for daily wear, yet we advise removing your ring/bracelet during workouts, household chores, or any other strenuous activity to prevent scratching or damaging your jewelry.
